Consistent quality, keep coming back

This was my third time using Podcastle, this time for their revoice AI voice cloning. I've used their remote interview recording and background noise removal before. Each experience has been consistently good. The revoice feature worked better than I anticipated, creating a very natural-sounding clone. It's reliable, and that's why I keep returning when I need these specific tools. They consistently deliver on their promises.

Good for recording, delivery was okay

I used Podcastle for a remote interview recording recently. The high definition audio recording quality was really good, which is what I needed. Setting up the session was straightforward. My main gripe was the customer service response time when I had a small question about exporting. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't super fast either. Overall, a solid tool for the price, but there's room for improvement in support speed.

Absolutely love Podcastle!

Podcastle is amazing! I tried the multitrack editor and the magic dust noise cancellation, and my audio sounds professional now. It's so user-friendly, even for someone like me who's not a pro. I'm telling all my podcasting friends about it. Definitely shopping here again for more features!

Great features, solid experience

I purchased the Storyteller plan mainly for the video podcast editor and the silence removal tool. The ordering process on the website was clear, and I upgraded from the free tier without any hitches. Delivery of the plan access was instant, as expected for a subscription service. I had a quick question about the video transitions, and support got back to me within a few hours with a helpful answer. The video editor itself is intuitive, and the silence removal feature works surprisingly well, saving me a lot of editing time. My only minor feedback is that some of the video effects could be a bit more diverse, but for the price, the quality and features are excellent. It made my workflow so much smoother.

Thinking about getting Podcastle for my podcast, mostly for the noise cancellation and transcription. Anyone use it for those features specifically?

R RahulK 4 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, I use the magic dust noise cancellation all the time. It's surprisingly good, especially for basic hums and fan noise. Not perfect for everything, but a huge help.

R RahulK 4 weeks ago
It handles consistent background noise well, but sudden loud noises like honking are still tough.

P PriyaS 4 weeks ago
Good to know. My current setup picks up everything.

D Deepak91 4 weeks ago
How good is it with, like, street noise? I live on a busy road.

Transcription is decent. Not 100% accurate, especially with multiple speakers or accents, but it gives you a solid base to edit from. Saves a ton of time.

P PriyaS 4 weeks ago
How many hours do you get on the standard plan?
4
A Anjali 4 weeks ago
Depends on the plan, I think Storyteller gives you 10 hours a month. Check their pricing page, it changes sometimes.
7
P PriyaS 4 weeks ago
Okay, will do. That might be enough for me.

V Vikram 4 weeks ago
I mostly use it for remote interviews. The audio quality is much better than Zoom recordings.

V Vikram 4 weeks ago
Yes, records separate tracks, which is super useful for editing.

Does it record separate tracks for each person?

If I get a promo code from an influencer, where do I even put it in when I'm upgrading?

M Mia 1 month ago
You enter it during the checkout process when you're upgrading your plan. It's usually a field for 'promo code' or 'coupon'.

It's pretty clear, you can't miss it when you go to pay for Storyteller or Pro.

Does Podcastle have any kind of student discount? I'm trying to start a podcast for my university project.

R Rosa R. 2 months ago
Yeah, they do! I got one when I signed up last year. Check their site, there's usually a link for it in the pricing section or footer.

T Todd M. 2 months ago
i think they also have a non-profit one too, so definitely worth looking for the student specific offer.

Hey, anyone know if there's a free trial for the Pro plan features? Wanna test out the fancy noise cancellation before committing.

Can confirm, I used the trial to test the magic dust. It's pretty good, definitely worth trying out if that's what you're after.

My Podcastle annual plan is coming up for renewal, and the price seems higher than last year. Anyone else notice this? Wondering if I should cancel and sign up again or look for deals.

S Sanjay87 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, I had the same thing happen. Mine went up after the first year. I think the initial price is often a promo rate for new users.
6
M Meena 1 week ago
That's what I suspected. Bit annoying.
8
S Sanjay87 1 week ago
I didn't, just let it renew. Kicking myself now.

N Neha 1 week ago
Did you try contacting support? Sometimes they offer a retention discount.
4
P PoojaR 1 week ago
I'd wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday if you can. They usually have good deals then.

M Meena 1 week ago
My renewal is next month, so Black Friday might be too late. Good tip for next year though!

I cancelled and then just started a new account with a different email to get the intro pricing again. Took a bit of effort but saved some cash.

Thinking of switching from Descript. How does Podcastle stack up, especially for the video editing stuff?

S Steve Silva 1 month ago
I moved from Descript a few months ago. Podcastle's video editor is pretty decent, not as flashy maybe but gets the job done. The AI enhancements are actually better than I expected.
0
C Carly 1 month ago
Yeah, I use both kinda. Podcastle for the initial recording and noise reduction, then sometimes export to Descript for more detailed text-based edits. Depends on what you're doing tbh.

Does the annual billing really save you a lot? Like, is it worth paying for a whole year upfront?

T Tara 2 months ago
Totally. I saved like 25% or something by going annual. It adds up over time.
4
M Mia Silva 2 months ago
Yeah, it's usually 20-30% off compared to monthly. If you're planning on sticking with it, it's a no-brainer.

Can Podcastle actually remove background noise from an audio file I already recorded somewhere else? Or does it only work for new recordings within the app?

S Steve 2 months ago
Yeah, it totally can. I've uploaded old interviews and run them through the magic dust thing, works surprisingly well.
3
M Marcus M. 2 months ago
Confirmed, you can upload existing audio and use their noise reduction tools on it. Super handy for cleaning up old stuff.
